About Us
The name Spring Creek Ranch comes from the creek that runs through the property the wheat is grown on. The creek is spring fed and during extended dry spells there is always a pool of clean, fresh water for the cattle to drink. Through the past four summers the creek had run dry with the exception of that spring fed pool. In 2001, we had only 3/4" of rain from June 20th through September 18th. Having constant supply of fresh water for the cattle is one of the more redeeming qualities about this small ranch!
We grow winter wheat, both red and white varieties. There is also milo, oats, winter peas, and spring peas.
Currently we sell whole grain wheat and flour to several local food stores in the Wichita, KS area.
Large corporations have too much control over the producer and consumer! I highly recommend naturally produced, fresh foods. I believe that the small food producer provides a better tasting, safer, and more wholesome product. In addition, the consumers' food dollar is distributed more equitably through the value-added food chain. It also helps to build better communities.
